Hotel Sarrafon

Bukhara – Who hasnot heard of the city museum with a history that is lost in the hoary past?
Samarkand is the beauty of the earth, but Bukhara is the beauty of the spirit.
In Sanskrit word, Bukhara signifies "monastery" and this city was once a big commercial center on the Great Silk Road.

Sarrafon B&B located in the heart of the Old City of Bukhara, near trade dome Sarrafon.
Why our B&B was named Sarrafon?
Bukhara being the crossroad of the Silk Road, had a lively traid.
The Sheibanids dynasty, who ruled Bukhara in the 16 century,
paid a great attention to the development trade by building trading domes.
Five trading domes were build in Bukhara at that time.
These domes were examples of civil  architecture of the 16 c.,
but only three of them have come down to our days. Each dome has its own name.
The domes were called according to what was sold in them.
Tok-i-Zargaron (1570) – Jeweler’s Bazaar,
Tok-i-Tilpak Furushon – Cap Maker’s Bazaar, Tok-i-Sarrafon – Moneychanger’s Bazaar.
Due to the nearest location to the trade dome Sarrafon, our B&B was named Sarrafon.
